What makes Sayū Matcha different?
We source only 100% organic, ceremonial-grade matcha from small, sustainable farms in Japan. Our matcha is shade-grown, hand-picked, and stone-ground for exceptional flavor, color, and nutritional value.
Is your matcha organic and gluten-free?
Yes, our matcha is certified organic, gluten-free, and contains no additives or preservatives.
How should I prepare matcha?
We recommend using a bamboo whisk (chasen) to blend 1–2 grams of matcha with hot water (around 80°C). For a traditional bowl (usucha), whisk until a fine layer of foam appears. For a matcha latte, simply add warm milk of choice.
What is the difference between ceremonial and culinary grade?
Ceremonial grade is made from the youngest tea leaves and has a smooth, delicate flavor — perfect for drinking straight. Culinary grade is more robust and suited for mixing into recipes like smoothies or baking.
How should I store my matcha?
Keep your matcha in a cool, dry place away from light, air, and moisture. Once opened, we recommend storing it in the refrigerator and consuming it within 1–2 months for optimal freshness.
